August 10 & 11	New Children's Orientation Children are in classes between 9 and 11am only
August 12	Regular schedule of classes begin for everyone
August 27	Back to School Night Philosophy of Montessori and Reggio Emilia Parents Only 7pm - 9pm
September 7, 2009	Labor Day Holiday (closed)
October 5 - 9	Parent Teacher Conferences (school in session)
October 19 - 23	Fall Break
October 30	Pajama Party (Halloween party without costumes)
November 26 & 27	Thanksgiving Day Break (closed)
December 18	1/2 Day of School - Winter Holiday Break Children will need to be picked up by 11:30am
December 21 - January 3	Winter Holiday Break
January 4	School Resumes
January 18	Martin Luther King Holiday (closed)
January 21	Montessori Kindergarten: "What is the advantage for my child" Parents only 7pm - 9pm
February 11	Teddy Bear Picnic (for Valentine's day)
February 12	Teacher Work Day, Friday (no students)
February 15	Presidents' Day Holiday (closed)
March 22 - 26	Spring Break
April 24	Silent Auction

Later in the year, you will need to know what to do about classes during our crazy weather patterns. Always check the weather before you leave the house. We may need jackets, boots or sunhats that you weren't expecting .

Snowy Weather:
For all closures and late start situations due to inclement weather, we follow the guidelines of the Douglas County School District. Local TV broadcasts will begin announcing attendance schedules at 5:00 a.m. Watch for:

Call the Parker Area hotline 303-805-6767 or use the District's web site ( www.dcsd.k12.co.us ) for easy access to updated schedule information on our school. Any weather-related schedule changes will be posted by 5:00 a.m.

Late Start Days:
On days where the district indicates a 1-hour delay, classes for the Renaissance Montessori Academy will begin at 8:00 a.m., with no before care.

Early Dismissal:
In the event weather conditions deteriorate rapidly and unexpectedly during school hours, parents will be informed that school, including after care, will be dismissed early. While we realize that this is always inconvenient, we ask your cooperation in picking up your children as quickly as possible. Roads will be slow and treacherous by that point. Help us get you and your child home safely.
